How to Properly Apply the Omni Ice Pulse Compression Shoulder Pad for Effective Recovery
Recently, the team at My Cold Therapy did a training on the proper application of the Omni Ice Pulse Compression Shoulder Pad. This is an advanced recovery device that integrates targeted cold therapy with compression to optimize recovery, reduce inflammation, and support postoperative care. Below is a simplified breakdown of the video training that will help you apply the shoulder pad properly.
What is the Omni Ice Pulse Compression Cold Therapy System?
The Omni Ice Pulse Compression system combines cold therapy with compression to aid in relieving pain and reducing swelling after surgery, injury, or strenuous activity. It’s widely used in postoperative care, sports rehabilitation, and home recovery, setting a new standard in therapeutic care across the industry.
Preparing for Application
Before using the shoulder pad, first, check that you have the correct pad. Look for the white label on the pad, which will specify the pad type. This is important to ensure you’re using the appropriate pad for your needs.
The universal protocol for cold therapy is 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off. Always consult your doctor for personalized instructions, including how long you should use the device and how to check your skin during treatment.
Applying the Omni Ice Pulse Compression Shoulder Pad
-
Unpack the Pad:
Remove the pad from the resealable bag. You'll notice two pieces—set these aside for the moment. -
Prepare the Pad:
Lay the pad flat. You'll see two flaps on each side. Take the flaps with the white elastic and loosely attach them to each side of the pad. -
Position the Strap:
If you’re treating your left shoulder, take the long strap and start by attaching it to the right side of the pad. Then, wrap it around your body and attach it to the front of the pad. Adjust the straps to your comfort, making them looser or tighter as needed. -
Additional Adjustments:
If you cannot move your arm, tuck the strap underneath so it doesn’t get in the way. Adjust the back piece of the pad and tuck that under as well. -
Support Arm Option:
The arm strap is optional, but if you choose to use it, it will help support your arm, removing the need for you to do so manually. Simply attach the arm strap to the front of the pad. -
Connecting the Device:
Once the pad is secure, connect the hose from the cooler to the hose on the pad. You are now ready to begin your treatment.
