2Breg® Polar Care Wave Cold Compression Therapy System
Breg® Polar Care Wave combines motorized cold therapy with active compression in a simple and compact system, making it ideal for facility and home use. Polar Care Wave is easily transported from the hospital, physical therapy clinic or athletic training room to the patient’s home, extending the benefits of cold and compression. Polar Care Wave encourages natural healing, reducing the need for narcotic pain medications.
Breg® Polar Care Wave is designed to reduce pain and edema to optimize patient recovery. Motorized cold therapy and compression devices, like Polar Care Wave, have also been shown to decrease narcotic use post-operatively.¹ United States Federal Law restricts this device to sale by or on the order of a medical professional.
The Breg® Polar Care Wave System is intended to treat post-surgical and acute injuries to reduce edema, swelling, and pain where cold and compression are indicated. It is intended to be used by or on the order of licensed healthcare professionals in hospitals, outpatient clinics, athletic training settings, or home settings.

I have used both the polar care Kodiak and Wave after my rotator cuff surgeries, and although both worked well I prefer the Kodiak. The pad on the Kodiak was not as bulky and stiff as the pad on the wave, which means the Kodiak pad could better adjusted to the contours of my shoulder. The bigger drawback for the Wave is that the connection line coming from the pad is very short. This line is almost on the backside of my bicep and very hard to reach with one hand to connect/disconnect. It also requires a fair bit of twisting of the upper body to try to disconnect with my good arm - and the twisting definitely causes some discomfort. On the Kodiak the connection cord from the pad is much longer so it's easier to connect/disconnect with one hand. I'm glad I still had my Kodiak so I could use that instead of the Wave the hospital sent me home with.
Had should surgery, been using for a week now, having fast recovery.
I bought the polar care wave for shoulder.
So quiet, light and works perfect
Very also easy to use
Unlike the last unit we owned from another manufacturer, the Breg is quiet - so quiet, in fact, that it is almost dead silent. It's easy to use, easy to fill as the ice/water container separates from the works, which are all in the "lid", and yields perfect cooling that does not vary for the life of the ice. The ice lasts a long time ... hours. The pad (knee, in this case) is very high-quality, not a cheap vinyl bag, and has wide straps for securing it.
The physical therapist doing a home visit approved, saying that the Breg units were the best out there. Having experienced the other, I agree.
Expensive, but you get what you pay for.
Shipping was fast and the unit arrives well-packed.
Wasn't sure which machine to buy so the customer service person made a recommendation based on my needs. got the Bregg and it is doing a great job so far.
