We've had the cold/compression model for 5 days, and it works well. Hoping that the pump will hold up
Great product. Pretty straight forward. Just fill it with ice and some water, plug it in and you are ready to go. I had another brand that has a post in the middle of the lid that makes it difficult to close with the ice in the bucket.
This so the very best thing you can have rt after surgery . Makes the pain minimal and then you can get up with therapy . Best thing ever . I used per my surgeons instructions before therapy and immediate after and pain was very minimal . I was off walked in 3 weeks . I highly recommend.
The new system with the glycol works awesome. It gets super cold and lasts for a long time. The best part is you don't need to deal with ice cubes.

So far, this is a great machine and makes icing post knee surgery much easier. Also use the ice bags to save on lugging large bags of ice home. Just wish it had an on/off switch.
Had a torn labrum in the hip area. The cold therapy was excellent in decreasing inflammation and help with the pain. I really think I healed better by using it.
Using the ice man machine with the knee and shoulder pads is the best solution to recovery from knee replacement and shoulder surgery is the best therapy you can have. Easy and convenient to use!! We love ours!!
I have ordered 12 of these. I had my left knee replaced and in 2 weeks will be having my right knee replaced. When I had my left knee replaced I used these ice packs almost all day and night. They definitely keep the swelling down. So worth it.
My surgeon recommended this for my upcoming shoulder surgery. I had been looking around at other brands, settled on this for the price point and also the cuff seemed easier to use than some of the others. My review at this point is based on a test run, may update after the surgery.
The cuff was easy to put on, but I DO recommend pre-fitting the under-arm tabs so post-surgery you can just slip your arm in it. Also note that the velcro is TOUGH to pull once it's stuck on something. You may need help undoing some of the velcro if you only have use of one hand and limited strength in the surgical arm. The velcro-attached "sling" is genius.
The unit itself is easy to use. I used frozen water bottles, but it only takes 2 16.9 oz bottles, but I was able to squeeze in a mini 8oz bottle also. Probably 3 12-oz would be just right. Take off the labels, and use a gentle solvent to clean off any glue reside.
The motor is not silent, but not too annoying, and it cycles on-off. No timer, but frankly my phone is by my side, it will do. Not sure yet if I will need it at night.
I installed it on an end-table next to the recliner (which is happily on the correct side). No leaks so far, tubing is easy to attach and detach. I plan on putting the unit in a dishpan to avoid any drips onto wood furniture. I may also put a fat book under it to raise it up, but it worked fine without the extra height (it's a bit below shoulder level).
The instructions lacked anything about how to drain the cuff itself: just unplug the unit (I recommend from the top), put the unit on the floor, stand up, and unscrew the top from the unit. You should feel it start to drain out. Probably you'll need to squeeze out the last bits. Gravity is your friend. Take the cooler to the sink, and then unscrew the bottom attachment and let the water drain.

Breg Polar Care Cube Large Knee Pad has worked very well to control pain and swelling after TKR April 7th. I needed to replace a prior pad and am pleased with this product.
These dressings are so worth the money to protect your skin and get the best benefit from the cold for your injury. If you are nursing a shoulder after surgery, but a couple, I did, and glad I did. Sometimes blood might seep out. Fortunately if you catch it in time you can just wipe off the dressing and it is fine. Disinfect with a wipe, let dry and you are good to go.
Getting this and the dressings, this shoulder system worked great with my Breg Polar cube. Highly recommend.
I ordered 2 sets to use under a custom splint, following surgery on my thumb joint. I followed other people’s suggestion of ordering the larger size and the large size fits perfectly for me. They are really good—very soft, comfortable, wicking nicely. My only negative comment is about the seam. I understand the seam is worn away from the skin, but it runs precisely along my surgical site, making it not so comfortable! I am going to try and see if I can manipulate it so the seam falls away from my thumb and the surgical site. For that reason, I only gave it four stars.
Was kind of surprised at the price of the dressing that only ONE dressing was included. The title implied to me that there would be multiple but only received ONE sterile package.
These bags are awesome! Wish I would have bought them sooner. I have an Ossur Cold Therapy machine and these work great. Fits 4 of these bags at once. Water is almost cold immediately. Highly recommend.
It functions exactly as expected. I’ve had two major foot injuries, and the ankle/foot pad helped significantly with pain relief and recovery.

My dog chewed a hole in my polar pad and had to order a replacement. Unit works great and helps inflammation.
I e filled the bags with filtered water then froze them I did try them in the polar care cube. I could feel the cold once it went through the shoulder pad. Will use with the back bad after fusion.
I haven’t had a chance to use this yet. I’ve used other products from Bregg and it helped with the shoulder pain after surgery. SI Joint fusion is scheduled for the 21st will use back pad then.
